The 1x-platform wording matters: at 22Bet, Megapari and Betwinner the bonus balance is separate from the real balance, the bonus is wagered from the bonus balance, and only the remainder up to the original bonus transfers. Winnings beyond the bonus amount that are still on the bonus balance at settlement are not transferred.
How a cap changes EV
Expected loss during wagering is unchanged (turnover × house edge). What changes is the distribution of what you keep. With a ×5 cap on a €100 bonus at 50×, every outcome above €500 is truncated to €500. For high-variance slots a meaningful share of the already-small probability mass sits above the cap, so the true EV is below bonus − expected loss. The EV calculator estimates the loss from truncation with a volatility setting; treat it as an approximation.
Where there is no cap
BitStarz states no cap for deposit bonuses (only for no-deposit ones). Stake's rakeback, weekly and monthly bonuses are cash with no cap beyond the minimum withdrawal.
